The council left the decision of which holidays to eliminate up to the mayor. Her options were Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Mardi Gras, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, All Saints Day, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, and Veteran’s Day.
Headline: Christian holidays reduced from constituting nearly 31% of the governmental holiday calendar to "only" 23%, claim evidence of persecution.

All Saints Day is a paid holiday?
Several parishes, dominant Catholic parishes, observe All Saints Day as a holiday (Lafayette Parish does as well). Acadian Day (the day after Thanksgiving) is also a holiday in LA.
