You guys don't get it. That night they got attacked by the police, the police warned them countless times to leave. They didn't. They could have avoided it but they wanted their "stand with me and yell at the man" moment.

I was only talking about powered optics on rifles. They are often used to look down range to monitor. Someone said that was never used in the Military. Not only is it used, its very common and SOP.

And given their history of rioting and looting they had to come out prepared to handle it as a precaution.

That is not the point... You just said that it was OK for the cops to point their ARs at the crowd because they were in a group of violent people... That was not that case when the cops showed up and immediately started aiming weapons.

accordingly, that is exactly what I am saying, getting a gun pointed at you should be according to you and your actions, period. IMO there are very few actions that should end up with crosshairs on you.

I'd be willing to bet the family did have an autopsy done and it didn't show what they wanted, which is the reason they are asking the DOJ to do one in hopes that they will find something to help them out.

Their lawyers are idiots, so I won't rule it out at as a possibility. Having said that, a good lawyer, once they get one bad result back would not want to run the risk of a 2nd bad result, especially one they can't control.
