Unfortunately no. I wish I could decide when I wanted to deal with a crackhead and when I didnt. The officer gave the guy a lawful command. Should the officer back down from everybody that becomes confitational?

Are you telling me that an officer should deal with a jaywalker the same as a crackhead? Are you saying that there aren't degrees of offenses and they shouldn't be approached with degrees of escalation? Are you saying that the cop couldn't have done anything other than what he did to keep from escalating this (without even knowing what he did)?

If so, I truly hope you are no longer an officer of the law.

Ok,

All of this Detective work made me thirsty, so i stopped at White castle by the mall for a Large Vanilla shake.

Here is the deal, the back of the parking lot, they have a dealer who is getting ready for big sale and has a bunch of cars in the lot. They usually have local dealers fill the back lot and have a big sale. So no BS going on, just a dealer his help and their cars.

I dont think you can lump all inner city kids together or all white suburban kids together. Each person has the capability to reacts differently

Stop your logical reasoning you racist POS.

That not reasoning. That's the exact opposite of reasoning. He's saying that no reasoning is required in an officer's job. An offense is an offense and all circumstances are equal.

No, he would have been murdered by an 18 year old adult that didnt like being told to get out of the street

As you'll note if you look back at this succession of posts, you don't even allow for the possibility that police handled the initial incident incorrectly.

OH, but I thought you said...

So the police just standing by as people are ransacking private businesses in a major city isn't an example of them picking their battles? You are so full of shite.

Deciding to go one on one to execute an arrest is not the same as jumping into an angry mob. Your comparison is full of shite

But killing someone over it isn't retarded.

I consider it a matter of intelligence. Everyone knows the stereotypes that exist about cops. Even though there are more good ones than bad ones you know that you could be running into someone that may abuse his authority by any number of ways. Could be as minor as simply harassing you or could be as bad as charging you with bullshite charges, beating or even killing you. So what does an intelligent person do???

A. Roll with it and comply?

B. challenge his authority?

I am not one to shy away from confrontation but I also am not going to confront someone I know can frick my world up.

Wouldn't that require an officer to take a measured approach to each situation individually instead if an, "lawful order, lawful order" one size fits all approach?

And here we place a greater burden of responsibility as to how to respond on an 18-year-old citizen than on a veteran police officer.

Love cop logic.

Orly? Do explain how it's different.

Come spend the week with me in the inner city of Memphis working with kids who are just like Mike Brown and I'll show you. The black community is fractured, untrusting, and expects the cops to use force on them. Sometimes it justified, in this case I don't think it was.

White suburban kids, like myself, were raised to fear and respect law enforcement. If a cop told me to do something I did it, no questions asked. Most kids who come from stable educated homes can pull this off.

Most inner city black families have no discipline, no daddy, and no education. They trust no one, especially cops. I have seen white cops treat 8 yr old black kids like absolute trash before, explain to me how to get away with murder if I caught somebody in my all black neighborhood stealing from my car, and a whole host of other things. Cops are going to have to be trained on how to handle situations differently when they approach them. Had that officer shown a little patience and just talked to the kid and built trust with him he could have actually changed the situation and possible the kids attitude about law enforcement.
