St. George was started by Louisiana's version of Boss Hogg.
He also filed a bill to break BREC up but withdrew the bill after BREC purchased land from him at a nice profit. He should be in federal prison.
Bodi White once complained about an ethics law that prevented lobbyists from spending more than $50 per person per meal. He said "You can't find a decent meal in Baton Rouge for less than $50".
St. George is so fricked. Conman leadership and you're all getting played.
The Brownings had the Central school district go over a river to grab their properties on the other side of the river and now there's low income housing about to be built in that section. It's not in the City of Central but they'll go to Central Schools. These people don't actually care about schools. They are making their family members money off real estate deals.

Okay do you know what the word "closer" means? Here's what happened.
They make an attempt to form a new ISD. It fails.
They make another attempt to form a new ISD. It falls short, and decide to form a city instead.
I say St. George (the city) hasn't gotten them any closer to an ISD.
You point to those first attempts at an ISD as proof that it did. You CONTINUE to fail to understand the difference between an ISD and a city. They are unrelated, legally speaking.
The genetic pool for SGISD is not looking too good.

No, their sttemot yo firm a racing district to support their nee ISD failed to get tgd 2/3s vote required. That’s when the black caucus advised them they needed to form a city to gain support got a taxing district.

You have issues with Central, White, developers, etc. You are bitter. None Of that means squat to me. I live in SG. I want good schools, I want control over my local tax dollars, and nothing you posted had told me that I am wrong.

Idk why you are celebrating. If st George does die, it will be the death blow for the parish. The exodus will hasten, and the current downtrend in EBR will take an absolute nosedive.
St George is the parishes last hope to stop the exodus of the middle class.

The City of St. George will eventually happen. We're being drug through the mud for political reasons. EBRP better hope it happens. The last saving grace for this parish. Keep the faith!!!

its funny because you don't realize that the first map which lead to the first election, was everything south of Florida Blvd that wasn't incorporated, majority black and hispanic areas included.
They expressed that they did not want to be included in the city after the first election failed, so the new map was drawn to exclude them, by their request.

Except in this case, the reason the state would not allow the creation of the ISD is literally, and I quote, because they need to "go out and form a city before you form a school district."
They had the election and won. To say they are no closer to forming their ISD is something an uninformed person would say.

This is the strongest argument in favor of SG in my opinion. There is literally one final chance to save this parish from a complete and total exodus to Livingston and Ascension and this is it. We signed the petition (twice) and voted on this and won. Now it looks like the people running the the CITY of BATON ROUGE are doing everything to stall it to death. If it fails, my family is out. Many others in my neighborhood are out.. Who do you think takes our place? Tax paying citizens?
This is it, BR. You either cede the tax revenue from your wrecked city to at least keep it in the parish, or you push your soon-to-be-former residents into other parishes and get NOTHING.
What's it gonna be? Win the battle and lose the war, or compromise and survive?

Yeah because the downtown trend is based solely on St George……come on bro I’ve read some dumb shite but this takes the cake. Half of what you think will be St George will annex either before or afterwards and it will resemble NOTHING like you blind backers think.
