Yes and unfortunately parents don’t do this in many situations - there is no way to make parents do this - so the public schools continue on their downward spiral - also there are plenty of administrators that don’t want parent involvement- so we have private schools
Even with their ‘unqualified’ teachers with administrators who understand who butters their bread, and most private schools turn out pretty decent students

So just a few people voting no causes the whole thing not to pass? That's not very solid footing you're standing on.

You don’t know what you are talking about. SG was never voted down. It passed the only time it was voted on.
The initial petition failed by less than 100 signatures after enough people signing withdrew their signatures. Furthermore, the initial petition covered a larger geographic area. Organizers studied the signatures on the first petition snd changed the geographical boundary of SG to exclude this’d thst did not want a new city.

Beepnode, you've proven yourself either completely ignorant on the topic or willfully abandoning basic truths on the matter.
You're clearly either clueless (in which case you should let the adults talk), or you're against it and want to sow dissent by presenting half truths and revisionist history.
Either way, you're a troll. Please stop.

I've been correct at every turn in this entire process. Please enlighten us as to which statements are false, and show your work as to why you think they are false.
The irony is that you are accusing me of using half-truths because I pointed out your half-truths about being told to form a city. The person that told you to form a city is SWB. This is a fact. It was not good legal advice. It was just bullshite the black caucus said.

Liar.
If I disprove your "facts" will you stop posting on the topic?

So initially you said it was SWB and now you are saying it’s the black caucus to cover your tracks.

Y'all are some dumb motherfrickers.
SWB was a prominent member and supporter of the Louisiana Legislative black caucus and was also the President Pro Tempore of the Louisiana State Senate.
She, and Regina Barrow are the ones that were objecting to SG and said they should form a city, which was clearly a stall tactic. Broome spoke in the senate and Barrow was in the house back then. Broome and Barrow both had prominence and have spoken about representing the interests of the black caucus. Barrow was the chair for a while. Jesus Christ, dude.

Imagine if somebody says Jen Paski said something and then later saying the Biden Administration says it and you are like OMG NO YOU SAID JEN AND NOW YOU SAID BIDEN ADMIN I GOT YOU FOOL!
Stop acting like retards. It's a huge turnoff. I live in Central because I hate Baton Rouge and I'm honestly temped put my own time in money into beating you guys just based on how dishonest you are.

Another generation from now. The city won't come online for another 5 years (if it does). It will take another 7 years to negotiate and plan for a new school system since you can't establish an ISD in Louisiana unless you're an incorporated city(a new system has to take on all bond debt and teacher pensions).

IIRC, the school district exists on paper and has been approved by the state legislature.
FUNDING a St George ISD? That requires a 2/3 majority of the legislature and the Black Caucus will lie cheat and steal to prevent it from happening.

You initially said people voted down SG and that was wrong.
You initially said SWB was the only person to tell SG proponents to form a city and that was wrong.
Stay in Central

So really, you countered your own quote. But it's a half-truth either way. The point is they were doing everything by the book and were slapped down as they apparently had no taxing entity and needed to form a city to achieve that.
It's not a flippant stall tactic. It was the truth, that Baton Rouge would never let the funds collected from the St. George area stay there to help local schools. They would have to form a city to have a bucket that protects from BR swiping it and using them on junk they don't see a return on.
They aren't dumb, except that they played by the rules of the game (something the opponents don't seem to be encumbered by).

Yes, but the schools are bad BECAUSE people left, the people who made them good.
That's not the reason they are bad, but it's the reason they have little chance at getting better now.

The City of St. George Transition District Bill, SB423, was signed into law by Governor Edwards on June 12, 2020. The St. George Transition District creates a framework for the transition of taxing authority and services from East Baton Rouge Parish to the City of St. George.
This happened, legally. Which makes it closer.
See ya on the rant.

When I can't think St. Georgians can't get any dumber, I am proven wrong.
Please enlighten me as to how SB423 gets you closer to having a school district.

That’s not true. The state legislature passed a law carving out the SG school district and Jindal signed it.
Unfortunately the legislature failed to approve a school taxing district to finance the new ISD.

This happened as part of the forming of a new city? No. That was before. Ever since the effort to form a city begin, nothing has happened that advanced the school district. I swear.. y'all are the least mentally agile fricks in the world.
Okay, you know what. Enjoy your new school district. lol
It can exist in Roblox, or something.
