You will be even more baffled to know people go to the Mississippi Gulf Coast from all over the country and the world and not only do they go there they return to visit often. Last week I was playing poker with a couple guys from Florida of all places. That should really knock you for a loop.

Well Mike, it doesn’t really knock me for a loop.

Neither state is in the top half of states most visited by tourists.

It’s hot as frick in the summer and unless you like brown waveless water on an artificial beach, you aren’t going to the coast for the beach.

I’m sure what’s drawing tourists there are the casinos. With the expansion gambling in other states, I question whether the coast will remain viable as a gambling destination, even Vegas is struggling now.

I guess it’s not my thing, glad you an your friends from Florida enjoy visiting there.

They are building this on the Back Bay Area. If done properly it will offer better storm protection than on the Biloxi Beach.

I believe that is exactly what they are planning.

I missed the part where Louisiana was going for this project. Could have said picked Mississippi over Texas, California, Alabama, Georgia, etc. The site they chose isn’t ideal. Florida panhandle, San Diego area, Jacksonville , lots of other options . Yes, no great location in LA either.

Agreed.

This resort is being built several miles inland from the MS coast.

it's actually not that bad. you can easily uber to the casinos or the beach if you want. Not shockingly, I mean I damn near live in the country and I'm 15 minutes from the beach. I can see the IP resort off in the distance when I get on Hwy 67.

Maybe hurricanes played into the consideration here.

Doesn't make it any less of a weird location. Might as well be a hampton inn.
