Russian, you have made a fool of yourself in these threads. Everyone sees it.
If "everyone else" is fluent in English, then what they see is Russian substantiating his position with facts, and you offering little more than conjecture and buffoonery.

Such a predictable refrain from someone who fell into their own trap. You may just want to let it go.

But please, you're welcome make the argument that he isn't acting immaturely in this thread. Good luck.

Have you called a St. Georgian a racist lately?
I've never once done this, but let me guess: this is you not hurling insults on the internet again, amirite?

I never said that. I was talking about you.

This evidently is quite the touchy issue here and it would be pretty cool to see the Anti ST. George people be a little nicer about things instead of always attacking.

This.

It's hard to appreciate the fact that history is being made right in front of us when specific posters can't stop the personal attacks and insults.

It's very likely that we are in the process of witnessing the establishment of Louisiana's newest city. A relatively small group of people are very close to getting 18,000 signatures from registered voters out of subset of just 110,000 residents....all just to get this issue on a ballot. That's an impressive and admirable grassroots movement that you don't have to agree with to appreciate. We should discuss this without derailing the thread into a pissing match.

It will never make it true that you called me immature? Good thing that's not a necessity since you definitely did it. I don't blame you one bit for feeling silly; it's a natural reaction.

Well, according to you, me calling him immature invalidates anything I say. Therefore, I'm asking you to prove otherwise.

Yes, you were definitely talking about me when you called me immature for calling whatshisface immature.

Go back and re-read this thread and see who started making personal attacks first in it.

It was Sprocket and he is definitely NOT anti-St George.

What makes it impressive? If there was a groundswell of support for incorporation, it would not have taken almost a year to get to 17,000 signatures.

The fact that the organizers are not telling their citizens the truth about the financing necessary to run a new city and any new school district ("no new taxes needed") is really my main opposition to their campaign.

They have been lying about that from the very beginning. If they told the truth, they knew they could never get any significant support.

That's probably a couple thousand signatures right there!

Yeah, there is no way there numbers are accurate. They are gonna need more than 20k to reach a safe number if they need to get over 18k that actually reside in the proposed area

What do you think their motivation is for not telling the truth on the financing needed?

It makes the incorporation effort seem so much more attractive. If someone told me that Baton Rouge could have a great school system and improved government services without increasing taxes, I'd think that was pretty swell.

Yea that seems obvious but the truth would come out eventually and there would be hell to pay. Who would gain what by lying about what its going to cost? I'm trying to understand Russian's perspective on the StG leadership.

I own property in the proposed city and have a child that will be school aged in about 2 years. We may or may not be able to afford private school so I favor as many options as possible. I would even support raising taxes if it meant better schools. I 'm not completely sold on the StG initiative but I support letting let it go to a vote.

How do you think the StG leadership would handle the backlash if the numbers come out that show it will cost more?

I would pay more in property taxes as well but I suspect that a lot of the potential voters and supporters of StG would not.

They would do what the typical St George supporter always does: they would blame others. They are perpetual victims.

Right? They like to throw around words like "tyranny" and "shite heads".

I can't decide of the leaders of the movement are intentionally being dishonest or if they just don't know any better. Based on what I've read, the leaders appear to lack the proper judgment that I would expect from someone with whom I would trust the power to run a city.
