Spinoff of fight threads: Do trashy people know they're trashy?

Do the people in the videos recognize that they're life's losers, that there's a different, better way to act, or do they lack that self awareness? I mean they're not totally isolated. They do run across people on occasion who wear normal clothes and act in a civilized manner.

I've wondered this. Like the one mother fricker on the street who won't cut his grass or take down the Xmas lights. Is he oblivious or just proud of being shitty?

I think it is just related to the environment they are raised in. They get used to a certain manner of behavior and can't act any other way unless there is some desire to change or their social awareness expands. I also think it is related to low self-esteem. They can't picture themselves acting in a classy manner.

In this case, he probably just doesn't give a shite what anyone thinks. Trashy, sure... He knows it, but he couldn't care any less. I kinda respect people like that to a certain extent.
These people throwing down in Wal-Mart on the other hand... I can't even. These people just have zero self awareness and have zero social aptitude.

Yeah, that was on my mind when I posted that. There is both subtle and overt social pressure to act and behave in a certain manner and you can get labeled soft which can be the ultimate insult in that social strata.

Some do. I believe trashy people fall into one of four categories.
1)Some are aware and want to do something about it, these are the ones that have a dream and want to move out of maurepas.
2)Some are aware and DGAF, commonly seen with a fat tattooed girlfriend who works at burger king and he drives an old Mazda truck with every accessory you can buy from the wal-mart auto center on the truck, listenes to hick-hop
3)Some haven't known anything else so they have no clue that they are trashy, commonly known to have lived in st. Amant their whole life and never left, nice as can be and would give you the shirt off his back, he just consistently makes poor life decisions and wonders why he doesn't have any money.
4) some work in the oil field and make a lot of money and think because they have money that doesn't make you trashy. Has a huge boat that he doesnt know how to drive properly, will fight you if you happen to make eye contact, was pissed when they closed Amanda Scott's and similarly hurt when "&"closed.

I think they really lack self awareness. Between social media, TV, movies, etc they can put two and two together to see that the majority of self respecting, successful people dress professionally, have a normal haircut, don't have piercings in odd places, aren't covered with tattoos, and don't have accessories hanging all over them or their material possessions.
I don't get it, but then again I don't feel sorry for trashy people. It doesn't take money to be clean and self respectful.

mostly because there are usually someone who is always trashier and they look at those people and say "those people are trashy, I'm not trashy"

Go to your local municipal court on a arraignment day and listen to the excuses these people give for their behavior to the judge.

He's probably an alcoholic or druggie that's too fricking lazy to get off his frickin couch. I can't stand living next to people like this

1. Anyone semi intelligent and with a hint of self awareness and not an absolute lazy slob will recognize they are trashy and remedy the issue.
2. Should they recognize and not remedy, then they are trashy, but it's relative and they will find someone trashier to defer to should/when their trashiness be called into question

In my experience most regarded trashy don't think acting more "civilized" is a better way to act. All about perspective.

I'm not sure if they're all life's losers, but I imagine a lot of them didn't do so well in the DayOne lotto, the lotto you draw from at birth: born into a secure, stable environment; born into a mean, chaotic one, etc., etc.
Me personally I was pretty lucky in my draw: born into a secure, stable family that provided all the love, basic material resources and support a child could hope for.
I wonder how I might've turned out under other, less fortunate and more threatening circumstances.
My conclusion: I'd probably be one of the people decent society refers to as losers, trash, pieces of shite, etc.
I don't know if trashy people know they're trash, but I'm pretty sure they know some other important things that us good folks haven't a clue about.
