This is exactly the scenario that played out with Jesus and the thief as they both hung on their crosses.

This. There is no requirement that you be a "good person" in order to get into heaven, only that you believe. I think that this is explicitly spelled out by the word "whosoever" in the KJV. That a thief could repent on the occasion of his death is a reinforcement of this idea.

I have a hard time believing/accepting that you can murder multiple people, be a bad person all your life and just repent before death and still get in the pearly gates. The Bible says he will but it defeats the whole purpose of encouraging good morals/ actions for life if you can escape the consequences right before the end.

Also, I might add that, assuming that the Theology is accurate, you will have a scenario in which the Serial Killer, who brutally murdered and tortured scores of victims, will be in Heaven, while many of his victims will be in Hell, because, the victims were not expecting to die, and, therefore, never had the chance to Repent in their heart and in their mind, as they lie quietly dying. They died with head bashed in and being strangled with a garrot, so they didn't have time to sit quietly and talk to Jesus.

Interesting scenario.

If you (1) trust that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and (2) believe that He lived a mortal life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for your sins, and rose from the dead and (3) have faith that belief in that sacrifice is the ONLY way to Heaven and (4) truly and honestly repent and ask forgiveness for your sins through him and God the Father, then yes, you can rape and kill as many babies as you want and still go to Heaven.

This is an accurate statement of the Theology of some Christian sects, as I understand it.

Also, the scenario provides for the contingency that the Serial Killer will be with Jesus in Paradise immediately upon death, while many of the victims, because they were prostitutes and never had a chance to Repent, are in Hell for Eternity.

A "Twist of Fate", for sure, but, that is the Theology.

Do all non-Christians go to hell?

it seems that many people with a similar mindset as you really do not like to answer this question.

Why would someone shy from answering this question? If there were another way to heaven besides Jesus, then how foolish would Jesus have been to sacrifice himself when we could just get to heaven by some other route?

Seems kind of unfair though doesn’t it? I mean someone born in say Saudi Arabia basically has zero chance of ever being a Christian. Most would be completely shunned by all of their loved ones for even entertaining the idea. Yet it is very easy for someone born in the American South for instance, to be a Christian. Seems strange that God would leave so much up to simple geography on who is getting into Heaven or not.

Yes, it does seem strange, at first.

Also it’s funny that after saying “why would anyone shy away from answering the question”, you didn’t answer it, you just said Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven. Maybe it’s implied that you mean everyone goes to hell, but you did not say it.
