I've had this happen before too. Just in Houston though. Wife and I just politely tried to leave and the owner or GM said no. "We are all here til 10:00-10:30 anyway so it is ok."

Place closed at 9. Our first time there so we had no idea. It was probably 8:45.

The Mexican guy from Boogie Nights and Carlitos Way probably spat in our food.

But the owner and waitress were nice.

I don't think sit down restaurants should have a "closing time."

I've always thought they should have a "stop seating" time and put it 45 minutes to an hour before when they want to shut down the kitchen.

I think that would be better for everyone.
