Absolutely.
Dealing hard drugs like meth, Heroin, coke should be illegal. Possession and use should not be.
The government punishing drug addiction with jail time and an end to any chance of life is not a good thing. It's fricking terrible.
The war on drugs is the one of the most asinine and ignorant things we as a people have ever supported.
But on point, there is a vast difference between the marijuana and hemp plants and syntheiszed methamphetamine,which, by the way, is legal and force fed to children by our government.

Illegal:
I go home, smoke a joint, and watch TV.
Legal:
I drink a fifth of vodka, take an Adderall and a zanex and oxy, smoke a cigarette, then walk into my son's room and make sure he took his government amphetamines at the age of 12 because last week he was caught staring out the window during computer class, then I take jail ambien and go to sleep while my 12 year old stays hopped up on meth.

Disagree. Where there is a demand, there will be a supply and the black market will be expensive and violent.
Just legalize it all and let people make choices what to do with their life.

Which says society has to be prepared to let folks die. That is an honest but harsh way to put it.

Solid point, people that argue the "dangers" of drug legalization fail to take into account alcohol is much worse in many instances.

Just letting you know, without being preachy as a non-user myself.
Having said that, I'm not entirely opposed to legalization for recreational use, and definitely favor medicinal use.

Regarding to comment by the poster above you about alcohol ads at the Super Bowl...Millions enjoy alcohol responsibly without being addicted and function just fine. How people do that with meth, heroin or crack?

There is extensive researched literature on it. I'm not going to even try to start to explain it when you would be better off reading a book. Educate yourself. Willful ignorance is not a virtue.

I used to smoke weed inside many bars in Nola. Cafe Negril was a big one. I remember the day when the bartender sounded apologetic when she said I couldn't smoke in there. And I used to go there enough that when I walked inside, before I even ordered a drink, a Sierra Nevada would appear in front of me.
But there's a ton of smoke spots around the quarter. I'm obviously not going to list them. But they are there.

A large number of overdoses are from cut or bad heroin.
Illegal nature of drugs drives an industry that offers harmful alternatives. Some legal, some illegal.
