From Canes to Posadas to Academy to Kroger to Whataburger, the hotels, the gas stations every single place was shorted staffed. Most to the point that they shouldn’t be open at all. Huge lines of people pissed off at the few poor souls who actually did make an effort to get to work. A complete cluster frick. Handing out “free” money makes people refuse to work, buy dumb shite and be trashy entitled pieces of shite. It fricks up the matrix. Troubling times indeed.

They are just spending time doing something creative and worthwhile for society like writing, painting, or some other noble profession.

So the gas station was closed? Because short staffed there is basically zero instead of 1.

Right. A Circle K with 16 gas pumps and 3 registers need 1 worker. Makes sense

Yes because most people make their purchase at the pump.

There were lines 10-15 people deep. Is there some point you’re trying to make? They didn’t have enough workers

Are you talking about the stimulus?

I assume that is the culprit. Or a least a large contributor to the problem. Obviously welfare and other social programs add to it, but I haven’t seen it like this before the stimuluses

No. The extra unemployment money that continues to be handed out

I keep hearing people blame the free money but honestly Louisiana unemployment is nothing & the stimulus is so spread out I’m just not sure how even poor people live on that

I'd buy that at some fast food but BS on that at the gas station, grocery story, or hotel.

I keep reading these stories and have yet to see this myself. Live in the Longview area. Not an issue in Tyler, Longview and Dallas. Was in Shreveport recently at Ki Mexico and other stops w zero problem.

I don’t know man. Help wanted signs everywhere. Why aren’t they working? Why can’t businesses find workers? They are getting subsidized and therefore don’t have to work is the only thing I can think of

Maybe they should pay more. Are you really complaining that a business is short staffed? Go somewhere else in town, better yet, take your happy arse to Dallas.

I love seeing construction companies bitch about hiring people the same way.

"We can't get anybody to work!"

Meanwhile the ad reads "Show up to work -- no drama! Pay starts at $12/hour with room for raises if you're a good worker." which to anyone with a brain puts on full display that they don't know how to hire and don't respect people's time, or they wouldn't be being so specific in the first place.

I'm not doing a fricking thing for $10 hour in an area where armed robbery isn't uncommon. I'll go live under a bridge before I do that.

Can confirm in Shreveport. Servers and bartenders are no problem to hire bc they are seeing the money to be made. Kitchen employees are a completely different story.

It’s also common knowledge in the business, that people are applying to jobs online and never showing up for the interviews. I’m assuming that this is to show that they are “looking” for work. It’s ok, after Labor Day when the money ends, the high paying offers will also. Let the workers enjoy themselves.........for now, lol.
