I ignored a scammer once and he tried again from the same number. I blocked it. He tried about 30 more times over the next six weeks. If they don't get an error message they know it's a working number.
I get a lot fewer now. One reason is I jerk them around and keep them on the phone as long as possible. They learned not to call me.

I rarely raise my voice or curse. I do both when they call

This 100%. Or the FCC maybe.
Seems like it would be easy to set up a “phone number/identity verification process” and allow us to block any unverified numbers.

There needs to be group of mercenaries or special opps teams that find scammers regardless of what country and eliminate them. And, let it publicly been known that they have been eliminated. Text scammers, phone scammers, the a-holes that get into your emails, etc. I hate people that steal like that.

I get about thirty a day. When they are trying to scam with a “ new state approved final expense plan” i give them a referral. I tell them to go sell one to Ahab the Arab in Gaza. And his cousins because thy are going to kill them all. The “ local licensed agent “ goes nuts.

I’m kinda suprised the bank lobby isn’t pushing for stricter penalties. They lose a lot of money and although it’s “insured”, they are still paying a premium

I had to put my phone on Do NOT Disturb. Then I selected Calls Allowed- Contact list. If you're not in my contacts list, you're not getting through. I call the legit one back. I had some oxygen thief in Oklahoma spamming me every 15 to 20 minutes. I'd love to order a drone strike with a Hellfire missile through his living room door.

Call the 3 credit reporting agencies and lock down his credit so no one can open credit cards or take out loans in his name. If he has dementia, he doesn’t need credit any more….

“they use literally 100’s of Thousands of spoofed numbers”
I got rid of my landline because of telemarketers and spam calls.I had caller I.D. and 1 day I got a call and the number calling showed up as my name and phone number.
It really is a problem.Couple of weeks ago my Cardiac NP wife had a problem-elderly man she ordered an Echo on had a diseased aortic valve. She called him 4 times but he never answered phone. She sent him a letter to come in to talk to her Dr, boss to talk about his valve and what to do. .
He came,in but was mad and refused to talk to the Dr.because “nobody had called him”
She had it documented, date and times she had called,he says he never answers his phone because “it’s always telemarketers”.
They went round and round about that ,he’s saying nobody called, she shows him paper with date and times, but he’s saying he never answers his phone so she ‘s like “how can I talk to you if you don’t answer your phone.”
Then he insists, there is nothing wrong with his heart despite the fact he had come in with all these symptoms in the first place and the abnormal echo,He finally agreed to talk to Dr.
Obviously his mind isn’t right,he wouldn’t give her contact information for a family member because he doesn’t want them knowing “his business”.
She runs into that problem a lot, ornery elderly men refuse permission for her to talk to family about their conditions.
My wife has a lot of patience.

We have a telescope in solar orbit but cellular carriers cant figure out how to stop caller ID from showing fake numbers.
Its almost like they have a vested interest in the spam industry, I hope the board of directors of Verizon get offered special rates on healthcare every fricking minute of the day.

If I don't recognize a number I don't answer it. Old people will answer every single phone call because that's how they were raised.

Yes you can but, at least on iphone, it still shows a missed/blocked/silenced call and they can leave messages
eta: blocking is hardly effective these days since they use literally 100’s of Thousands of spoofed numbers. My block list is close to a thousand just since July when the calls started
Register him for DO NOT CALL. It works. Also, block any number not on is contacts list. That works too.
