Spain on Saturday reported 832 new coronavirus deaths, a 1-day record, as death toll reached 5,690.

The country's total caseload jumped by 6,529 to 72,248, the government said.

Spain has the world's second-highest COVID-19 death toll after Italy, where more than 9,000 people died from the disease.

I think in their case it's just more about being ill prepared

Your comment would definitely apply to Italy though

Can someone post that WHO chart ranking the healthcare systems again?

For all the talk about good or bad national healthcare systems, it seems that one statistic is much more important than anything else:

Per capita hospital staff, beds, ICU/equipment to population.

I have no idea where countries or certain areas of every country rank in this.

But, am I wrong in simply thinking that a country ranked high due to having top-notch spinal specialists but less general facilities would be in worse shape to deal with this than a country with average high-end care but lots more ICU units and general doctors?
