What a great launch. Awesome shite.
Can’t wait for the news articles:
“Starship launch ends in booster landing failure that startles endangered whales”

Booster will need some tweaks but it’s progress. That’s all that matters.
And Starship is progressing well so even more so. Successful reentry is not necessary for Artemis anyway

Re-entry in 26 mins it sounds like. Just incredible so far.

Im willing to bet since it was engines not firing that they still have a small filtration issue.

Did they say "rapid scheduled disassembly"? Is that a nice way of saying "we blew it up on purpose"?

Some leftist in my company's tech department hates elon and when I asked why specifically he grumbled something about destroyed launch pads that hurt the wildlife

What a cuck

Fuel transfer test should be happening soon

Think they showed a quick snippet of the door opening

Doesn't seem like booster made a "soft" landing in the Gulf

Yeah it came in HOT. As usual, they will correct it for the next flight. I think they are willing to lose the boosters for the next few to get orbit on starship proven.
Plus, lots of fuel transfers to be done along with life support systems testing. Can't wait to see this thing go to the moon and test a landing.

I'm beyond ecstatic with what's going on here... just pointing out there's still work to do but it's even more progress achieved to the ultimate goal

Speaking of which they just completed

Correct. NASA treats all their boosters as disposable. They also allowed contractors to freely use money at will because it was government funded. When you have privatized investment in a project like SpaceX, people will want to make sure their money is going to exactly what they want.
I'd rather SpaceX learn now and crash boosters/Starships than figure out hwo to solve those problems when humans are onboard.
