NWS NOLA uses all available radars. They see more than we do with apps. They have access to all the proprietary TV radars and such.

* Flash Flood Warning for...

Southeastern West Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* Until 245 AM CST.

* At 1134 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of
rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 4 inches in 1
hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches or more will
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Baton Rouge, Baker, Port Allen, Oak Hills Place, Addis, Brusly,
Merrydale, Westminster, Brownfields, Inniswold, Gardere, Greenwell
Spring, Watson and Baton Rouge Airport.

This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 149 and 162.
Interstate 12 between mile markers 1 and 5.
Interstate 110 in Louisiana between mile markers 1 and 8.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

We just got peppered with some marble-sized hail at the Bluff/Old Perkins intersection. Moved through quick but it seems to be over now. Off to bed…
