re: South America, North America, and Middle East are sketchy. Orange Beach Gonna be expensive

If you don’t have a boat, OBA would probably get boring in 3-4 days. Access to a boat is the ultimate game changer.

I can be at the house in Orange Beach in 3 hours.
Wake up early and do some of the best Snapper/ bottom fishing around. Troll for Maui, King, Spanish, Cobia, etc. Fill the cooler and head home at noon.
Might just hit the piers on the bay for Trout/Reds/Flounder and do no offshore fishing if it’s rough. May get the cast net out and catch fresh mullet and call it a win.
Clean the fish, shower and nap during the hottest part of the day. Get back on the boat mid afternoon and head to Tacky Jacks, Tiki Bar, Sunset Grill, Pirates Cove, Yacht Club, wherever, and have some cocktails. . Creep back to the house late evening/night and sit on the dock, fire up the grease or griddle, and eat like Kings.
Bait the crab trap and catch mess for a boil. Get the spot light and gig flounder on the sandbars at night.
I haven’t eaten out in years down there. Couldn’t tell you what restaurants are where, and been going down there 50 years.
Might catch a good concert at the Wharf on any given weekend. The only time I get in a car is to go to Publix to stock up on necessities or head back home. Put the boat on the lift and call it a week.
My vehicle sits in the driveway 95% of the time. This is the only way to do the beach. Usually runs me and my family of four less than $1,500 for 4-6 days. Leave $150 for the maid to clean up the house and roll out. Sunburnt and back home in 3 hours with a pile of good seafood that last for a months. Call it what you want, I love it down there. Therapy.
