Anyone have any good Sonoma wine tour guides theyve used lately? I used DeanInTheYays rec with Healdsburg area wine tours 4 years ago and he was awesome...but Ive learned Gene passed away from cancer in the last year.

Isn't there a train or something you can take? I've heard good things about it.

That's Napa Valley.

Hey OP...where are you headed in Sonoma?

Sonoma easy to do on your own.

Definitely check out Hanzell and Kistler. Both great.

Also, several great restaurants in the town square.

Much prefer over Napa. Miss the cabs but pinots are great and a lot more easy going. And the town way cooler.

Our hotel is in Healdsburg...but we plan on doing Russian River area in addition to Healdsburg area.

That's where I live. Great wineries in the area. Russian River Valley is great for pinots. Alexander Valley has some great Zins and Dry Creek Valley has a bunch of great Cabs. All of these appellations basically intersect in Healdsburg.

We had great luck with a car service. The driver was knowledgeable and got us into the wineries that otherwise didn't have openings for tastings.

My friend booked it. I'm waiting to hear back from her on the name.

Last year we had an excellent tour with jim from magnum tours. Three couples in a Mercedes van and jim took us to great places that are off the beaten path.

Highly recommend.

Verve

We used Verve on our 20th anniversary trip. They did not disappoint. They have access to some things others do not. Give them a try.

Did a biking vineyard tour in Healdsburg area a couple of years ago and it was really fun too. Something different if you are there for long enough to do more than one day of touring. Nice way to see the area. They arrange a car to pick up any purchases.

Barry and Kerry with Why Spit are fantastic.

Based in Napa Valley, so not sure on rates for Sonoma but worth a call.
