I was going to say maui Jim's. They have some not so expensive. But I see your thinking of the rack at Walmart or academy not expensive.

Here's my thing. I never bought expensive sunglasses because I lose them. I finally shelled out $180 for some Maui Jim's that lasted me 7 years before I bought another pair. With me knowing their price, I took much better care of them.

When I bought my new pair, I was wearing my old Maui Jim's doing yard work. Branch knocked emm off my head and I stepped on them. It's like subconsciously I didn't give a shite about them and broke them immediately.

They are all the same when it comes to UV protection. You are just paying for the name.

Saw a news story on it this week. They took all types and tested them. They all performed the same.

Check out American Optical, you can get some quality polarized aviators for about $80 or so.

Re: Polarized Aviators

(From the FAA regarding polarized glasses)
Polarized lenses are not recommended for use in the aviation environment. While useful for blocking reflected light from horizontal surfaces such as water or snow, polarization can reduce or eliminate the visibility of instruments that incorporate anti-glare filters. Polarized lenses may also interfere with visibility through an aircraft windscreen by enhancing striations in laminated materials and mask the sparkle of light that reflects off shiny surfaces such as another aircraft’s wing or windscreen, which can reduce the time a pilot has to react in a “see-and-avoid” traffic situation.
