I was doing 75 in a 70, in the right lane. You are suggesting I go over 80 (easily) to pass the truck in order for the a-hole to have room to pass.
Nope.
The real answer to the story is that the truck should have slowed down since I was already beside him and get in behind me.

Idiots going slower in the left land should always be shot but since there’s not enoug bullets, that’s impractical.
So you deal with it by speeding up briefly to let the guy around.
And don’t fricking play games varying your speed. Serves no purpose but leads to pissed off people and risky situations that you aggravate.

And I would have done it if the guy wasn’t riding my arse with his brights on.
After him flashing the truck didn’t work, if he would have simply gotten in behind me because I was going slightly faster than the truck, I would have done it.

But we are talking about rules of the road. He's in the right hand lane and has no obligation to control the flow of traffic.
Depending on my mood and my pissy level of him getting behind me in the right hand lane and bright lighting me I might have made him eat shite for about 5 miles or so.

The 18 wheeler driver should have been pulled over and had his drivers log inspected He had no reason to be driving in the passing lane at 4 AM

That might have made you feel better in that moment, but really you created a dangerous situation for yourself and other drivers unnecessarily.
I was taught that if someone wants to go faster than you, just get over ASAP. Otherwise you cause dumbarse tailgaters to pass on the right or weave in and out of traffic.
Pissing off someone already driving like a reckless maniac is not smart. You also didn’t change his behavior, you accelerated it.
