The replies in this thread tell you everything you need to know. Lots of angry alcoholics who are mad you even mention sobriety bc they know they should quit but don’t want to. Thanks Pike, I was already planning on dry January and you may have inspired me to try and join you for the whole year.

ITT is a bunch of try hard pick mes saying how cool they are because they don't drink.

Given the demographics of the OT ‘most are lying to feel cool on the internet.

Sad!

I feel sorry for people that don't drink.

When they wake up in the morning, that's the best they're gonna feel all day.

No, but we’ve done dry January the past 2-3 years and planning to do it again. But I know several people who have gone totally sober and it benefited them. Maybe one day for me but I’m not bored yet. Too many good cocktail bars and breweries out there in the world that I still want to experience.

snob says “ and you sir are quite inebriated “
“yes madam that is quite true bit in the morning I’ll be sober”

Quit January 11, 2023 cold turkey. Went a year before deciding to drink only on vacations and it’s been going great so far. In the best shape of my life and my off days are much more productive. I’ll be honest and admit that sporting events and parties aren’t as fun anymore but the peace and health outweigh the fun. The hardest part is your friends and family accepting it. I’m from a family that parties and it took them awhile to quit offering me a drink or begging me have a beer with them when at events

I'm honestly not sure what is more annoying, drunk people when you're sober or people that don't drink in general.

I was with you 3 hours ago when I was in my office but now I am at home watching Michigan vs. Texas sipping bourbon.
