No, constant supervision sounds awful. Have or don’t have sex, I couldn’t care less. The fact your dad didn’t trust you enough to have some boundaries without supervision sounds awful.

I don’t care when you had sex.

He was protecting a girl who would have been easily talked in to sex and been promiscuous. I don’t fault him for doing his job.

ETA: Trust teenagers?

My dad was as strict as they come. But even he woulda let me bang a chick if I wanted. He wouldn't tell me it was OK but he would give me privacy knowing full well I'd be hitting it.

Did he wait until you were 15 to start parenting?
Never mind.

I don’t see what the problem with that is. If I can get her out the door and in college as long as her grades are good then I have done my job.

How’d he do that?

No, he adopted me when I was 3 and was always a great dad.

Either he would kill me or I would go to hell. Worked for a teenage girl.

I honestly didn't think 18 dating a 15 year old was legal?

Dating ie hanging out is legal, sexual interaction is not legal in LA, depending on the exact difference in age it could be a sexual registry felony or a non-reporting misdemeanor.

Yes, even teenagers deserve to be respected.

People don't develop by being treated like babies until they're 18.

Exactly.

You can’t keep them under lock and key. You raise a child from birth to adult. That’s when you do your best as parents and hopefully it pays off. No guarantees.

That is too big of an age difference.

3 years is not a big difference in age.

A 28 yr old dating a 25 isn’t abnormal

Well, it depends on the span, The older, the more that is true.

A 7th grader dating a 10th grader, for example.
