Congrats! Some advice...
I've been down this road. It may sound strange, but try not to get addicted to recovery. What I mean is, don't go overboard. Phase into living life on the other side. Family will always look at you different, waiting for the relapse. It sucks because you can't change the past.
Go forward, make plans, find your own way. I'd wait awhile before helping others. Eventually your chemistry will change for the better, it just takes time.

Glad you got the help you needed (in more ways than one)!

I have one question though. From your original request, i still don't understand this part.

I apologize for starting another thread but I wanted to say a couple of thanks and give an update for those that believed me and are worried. First, I am still heartbroken. No sleep, no water etc. it hurt to ask help from anyone but I needed money to pay for funeral and burial.

Can you clairfy?

Awesome dude - glad to hear it's working out for you. I'm coming up on 3 years sober, stick with it - it's good for you!

I’m so glad things have turned around for you. I live in Walker, too, and I love my community. I was one of those who donated and came pretty close to withdrawing it. For whatever reason, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I hope you continue to be successful with sobriety. I can’t imagine the hell you’ve been through.

I am so proud of you and this poster. God bless you both. You and your family will continue to be in my prayers. Wishing you all the best and sending you and your children all the hugs and love in the world. You got this, friend.

Don’t worry, that money you took back won’t matter because you’ll be dead and broke in 50 years. You being an a-hole will live on forever.

I hope that you fully comprehend that you have faced some of the toughest battles anyone can and won. You need to do that. You need to set those thoughts as the bedrock of your new life because even the hot dragon of addiction can’t overcome a foundation of such success.

Erase thoughts of weakness, doubt and denial from your mind. Drive them out. Do not allow them to exist there.

Then focus your thoughts always on positive things. God and spirituality is a huge help there.
