My two closest friends are female and I am not sexually attracted to either of them. Literally been friends with them through my entire marriage and now my current girlfriend. I don’t get why it’s so hard for people. I wouldn’t be friends with them if I wanted to bang them.

Yes it's possible, after you hooked up with her and mutually decided there was no sexual chemistry, and you never developed feelings for her. If you've never hooked up with her then it's always hanging out there and will be trouble. Some of my closest friends are girls that I hooked up with but after it went nowhere they look to me to weed out potential assholes. The truth is girls will bang a fire hydrant but they are lost when it comes to finding anything on their own.
