No, I don't think they ever worked in the same store. Both were employed by the company at the same time. So it's no longer Jav or Javier?

Seconded on Southern wings.

A couple years ago, I had a convention in Buffalo. Ate wings for a convention lunch, ate wings at the original birthplace of the buffalo wing and then ate wings at the supposed best wings in Buffalo.*

All were naked and wet and all were outstanding. BWW is garbage. Great advertising and cheap beer goes a long way in covering up overpriced shitty food.

Believe it or not, the best wings in Buffalo place and the Hilton convention center wings were neck and neck. Original place was good, but lagged behind the other two.

You should get taken care of pretty well especially if your pissed during your conversation. The Manager never should have told his employees to let people know this because they should not have done it. They are violating a franchise agreement by serving unapproved product in the store. He could have called the owner, corp, or other area stores to get the correct product. Someone screwed up on ordering or prep and was trying to cover their arse. He couldn't see the forest through the trees and caused more problems instead of fixing the situation. Him being honest pissed you off worse than you would have been if they were just out, and he wouldn't of hurt the brand. I oversee 8 restaurants, and if your managers aren't taught correctly things can snowball quickly. I'm sure you won't be the only complaint they get.

Really?

So your philosophy is to just lie to the customers?

You must be one of those corporate shills who cares more about lower cost-more profit and replaces real cheese with a 90-10 oil to dairy blend because it cuts food costs.

I despise "managers" like you and always tell my customers what's going on in my kitchen.

You people want a tip: avoid corporate restaurants. They use low quality ingredients, and always look for lower, and most stuff is pre-made in a factory and shipped for re-heat by under-paid, over-worked "cooks" who can barely turn on a stove.

And god forbid they have to do real prep.

No I didn't say lie to the customer. He shouldn't have used something unapproved.

Read what I said. The Manager never should have told his employees to let people know this because they should not have done it.

Telling the truth would of been "We ran out of product." He got caught selling the wrong thing and then said what happened.

I'm not a corp shill. I'm a franchisee who knows what I will get blasted about from the customer and corp.

What I said is right

He owns a McDowell's. See, they're McDonald's... he's McDowell's. They got the Golden Arches, he has the Golden Arcs. They got the Big Mac, he got the Big Mick. They both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. His buns have no seeds.

I'm a Director of Operations for the owner of our franchise. So, I actually fight with corporate more often than not.

We get an unannounced inspection every 30-45 days by them and if we were/are caught serving unapproved product or changes in the recipes it would be a severe breach of the franchise agreement.

I think I'd almost rather be caught by them than a customer posting a picture of it on social media

Well shite.

I'm the chef at a restaurant, but I work for the owner of a restaurant.

By your logic, I guess I am an "owner".

What? I said I run a franchise for an owner. I don't know what's confusing about that.

Franchising is a long-term cooperative relationship between two entities—a franchisor and one or more franchisees—that is based on an agreement in which the franchisor provides a licensed privilege to the franchisee to do business.

You said you were a franchisee.

You are not.

You work for a "franchisee".

You are just as much a franchisee as the guy washing dishes at one of "your" locations.

Seriously: when was the last time you worked the line?

Washed a dish?

Prepped the secret sauce(aka defrosted it)?
