That whole "consensus of scientists" thing that was pushed during the Obama years included the opinions of dentists and foot doctors.

I love milk, but it upsets my stomach. I like tea (sweet or not). My next favorite is rum, but it was in my best interest to quit. I drink mostly water now.

I can't stand the taste of coffee.

For real though, you can't say something is cyclical without providing what that cycle controls and how much it contributes (amplitude) to global warming.

Your SO has her period on a cycle. That just affects her, you, and the people around her for 3-5 days.

Some of those cycles in that list are the same sort of spatial and temporal localization.

Some of those cycles are global, but have little affect. Some are global and have a great affect, but over long time, so the rate of change is almost imperceptible unless you move the scope in which you are studying/discussing to that scale...deep time.

Yes it is. Trump and his base rally against “fake news” yet rely on sources such as the one OP is sharing. I’ve never understood that.

The 97% number was likely overstated, but it’s a statistic so it can be manipulated to suit anyone’s argument. Even if it was overstated, would saying there is 80% to 90% consensus be that much weaker of a statistic? It’s still the overwhelming majority no matter which way you look at it.

As I did this thread for fun, your above statement pisses me off

How fricking stupid can you be to even post that?

Are we to assume California is not a naturally arid area? Have forest fires never happened in that area before? Do humans have a history of ignoring natural disaster possibilities to build habitats?

We can have fun debating climate change, but do not be a blathering idiot when doing it.
