A few years ago three cops caught a couple fricking at a park in BR. They told the guy to leave and then one officer had sex with the girl while two others served lookout. She claimed rape and he said she consented. I'm not sure how you can reasonably refuse sex with three armed men holding you hostage alone, but whatever.

Cop then gets investigated by other BRPD officers who can't find enough evidence to convince. Google it, the advocate covered it pretty well. I'm just amazed that the guy is free and clear and nobody ever talks about it.

I remember this. It's such a weird story. I just have no idea how three guys can roll up to a scene, one decides he's going to have sex with someone, and the other three agree to be lookouts. How those events play out is mindblowing to me.

Almost like it's routine. The guy even knew how to destroy evidence. I'm all for cops but anyone that abuses power like that needs to rot.

When Salamoni was placed on leave, the police department said he was told he had to turn in his gun, car and badge. But, the extra duty form at an area bank where he collected extra pay clearly reports that they needed a uniformed officer in a Baton Rouge Police Department vehicle. Even though Salamoni had just been placed on leave, documents show Salamoni managed that extra duty. Baton Rouge Police Policy clearly states officers on administrative leave, serving a suspension or who have not been confirmed may not engage in extra duty.

quote:

"After the public information request was filed by y'all, we looked into the incidents involving officers working extra duty while on leave," Dunnam said. “The investigation revealed these officers worked administratively, running extra duties, calling officers, these were duties they did from their house."

So did Salamoni go to the bank in uniform in his BRPD vehicle or do admin duties from home?

I didn't see anywhere that the victim was kidnapped. Nor did I see that the accused said the sex was consensual. Are you sure the guy was made to leave or was there a reason for him to leave such as he may be married or had a serious girlfriend. What would an outside agency provide that BRPD didnt do. Looks like the DA's office went pretty hard at them. Something appears off, I'll give you that. Lucas, I've seen you mention in the past. Do you know the victim or had something to do with the case?

Well when your two main witnesses are cops, do you really want their buddies doing the questioning? Or do you think it might be important to get an unbiased third party to look into it?

I'd disagree, the da didn't seem to upset about letting a rapist and his buddies get off. Even let the defense go after the victim pretty hard on the stand. But that da works with the department so it kinda makes sense.

Nah nothing personal, just the particular dead horse I've chosen to beat. But it perfectly illustrates everything wrong with the police force today. No regard for what's right, just what they can get away with. I'd love to see some cops come out and say this guy is a piece of shite, but they'll even stand up for the rapist if he's in blue.

I'm pretty pro cop most of the time but they make it hard when they defend people like him.

So you don't really know the whole case. Don't know if the girl lied, how the crime got reported. I'd bet all those dudes lawyered up immediately so questioning the cops probably wasn't the easiest thing to do. If you really want to go spouting off every time about this case when police misconduct occurs I'd recommend you go get the police report and read up. I'm sure it's public record at this point, might be pricey though.

Also, you didnt answer several of my questions. When was the girl kidnapped and when did the cop/suspect ever say it was consensual. Better yet when did he say it ever happened. You do know those guys tried to get their jobs back but were denied right. I agree something shady happened but not just going to believe everything this girl says.

BRPD breaking own policy about suspended officers/officers on leave working extra duty.

Admin leave is not a suspension.

quote:

They are entitled to receive their pay but they stay home. They can't use their police car, use their service revolver or weapon, use their commission or badge to detain or arrest or possibly even use deadly force against somebody."

Collecting an admin fee for scheduling a private detail and turning in the payroll for it isn’t he same as going to said detail in uniform and acting in a police capacity. You don’t need a police uniform, police unit, gun, badge, or commission, to do administrative work as it pertains to extra duty. You do that from Home and use your phone and computer to email shite to the extra duty office.

What a bullshite story.

The Baton Rouge Union Of Police have released the following statement to the press:
The Baton Rouge Union of Police, Local #237 would like to add clarification to “Investigative” report by WBRZ, in reference to the working of extra duty by Officers on paid Administrative Leave.

The first clarification is distinguishing between Administrative Leave and Suspension.

Administrative Leave is not a punishment as is the case with suspension. Administrative Leave is part of a procedure that the department follows as it pertains to some investigations, to include but not limited to Officer involved shooting. There have been no cases where an Officer has worked extra duty while on suspension, as the report would have you believe. Administrative duties are just that. Administrative. There are no Police actions taken in this role. It solely consists of scheduling and maintaining payroll. A task that has nothing to do with physically acting in the capacity as a Police Officer and is routinely done from home. Again, there is no action or enforcement while performing these duties.

The list of ten Officers in the report is also misleading. There are Officers on the list that perform Administrative duties and are not compensated. This would mean that they volunteer these services at no cost to their employer. Should they also be persecuted for their generosity and service to the business community?

With the violent crime rate as it currently stands, business in Baton Rouge is sure to suffer. Many of these businesses choose to spend more than their tax dollars on security and hire off duty Officers to protect their patrons and property. If the “Administrative” Officer is not allowed to conduct the scheduling of personnel and ensuring that the necessary documents are sent to the Department the business itself may suffer a lapse of security at any given time.

This report is nothing more than a blatant attack on one of our members whom to this day is still innocent until proven otherwise.

Yours for a safer community, Sgt. C. Bryan Taylor, President

It seems Nakamoto left important details out of his story.
