I am struggling with this one.
I'm fine with cancel culture for roles that require the public trust. Police, firefighters, CPAs engaged in public auditing, nurses, doctors, ect should be held to a higher standard because any perceived or actual bias will greatly affect society as a whole.
I'm also fine with truly awful things people say being highlighted. That being said, I disagree with calling people's jobs and trying to get them fired outside of "public trust" style situations. It's retarded. If someone called me and told me one of my employees said something idiotic, I would say okay and move on with my life. The right did something similar when RBG died, and I commented back then I thought it was awful, but I still don't think people should lose jobs.
