IIRC, Armstrong had to manually land the LM as the computer was going to crash it into some rocks.

what a pathetic attempt to reduce differing opinions. The attempted gotchas by the nasa huggers are the only thing more hilarious than the “successful” landing that we still haven’t seen pictures from.

Who knows? You couldn't ask him even when he was alive. He was totally despondent in the post Apollo press conference and couldn't even answer if he saw stars in the sky. Then he went into hiding and refused to talk about for the rest of his life

Pretty sure we are laughing at the failure to land anything at all on the moon in 50+ years despite a zillion advances in technology and astral physics.

Yeah this dude should have been the biggest hero on the planet. But he always acted somewhat odd in his very few interviews/appearances.

You took that quote WAY out of context.
He told Conan that he didn't actually watch the LM land on the Moon as there was no camera showing that, the networks used animation along with the audio from the LM to present the landing.
