So what’s the chances of me making it to Baton Rouge from Pierre Part tomorrow for 11?

I wouldn’t cancel any plans tomorrow. Icing will be very minimal if at all. Just not enough moisture with this system. And for areas further south where it is raining it’ll be above freezing

Not looking forward to driving from BR to Laffy tomorrow afternoon. May just take 190 to 49, and bypass I10 altogether.

Never underestimate the ability of drivers to frick up a straight-line drive, though.

How about a primer for us amateurs in precip depiction mode.

Green rain?
Pink ice/sleet?
Blue snow?

Lot of this pink approaching BTR.

Pro tip: if you're using RadarScope on the regular tier that doesn't have the Inspector tool, you can click or long hold the color scale/legend at the bottom of the radar and it will show you what the colors correlate to.

But....that just gives you an idea that there could be snow or other frozen precip. In instances like tonight with such light precip, you can't be certain what you are seeing is hitting the ground. You can get a better idea using Correlation Coefficient and/or Differential Reflectivity.

Even the Composite Reflectivity that your local weather apps and other weather apps use can't tell you for certain if what you are seeing is hitting the ground.

ETA: That's why Duke said what he said about verifying what you see in PD by other means. It can be a pain with precip like we see tonight.

Going to turn into 2008 when we had inches of snow when nothing was predicted?
