This thread has died out. Why?
Because the models have gone from giving us 15” of snow to not even a raindrop at 34 degrees.
Edit: not so fast my friend! I should’ve checked this morning’s models before posting this.

'Bout like a politician's campaign promise to actual results.

Well I guess you never know. Looks like the cold is arriving way ahead of schedule right now. It’s either going to start holding steady very soon or things could get interesting this evening. Duke, what are your thoughts here?

Yep.. Looks like it has completely dried out. Appears it will just cold as shite with no fun

I’m not sure… I just checked this mornings models and the HRRR and NAM still show some moisture heading this way late tonight/early morning. That’s more than they showed last night, when they showed everything drying up behind the front.

Interesting. I am hoping for some flurries.

Whatever, if anything, happens it won’t be flurries. The cold is shallower than me in an Asian babe thread.

Ha ha. Ok then I just want to sit by the fire with kids and dog.

I'll probably UPDATE thread title and my original post later today, when the forecast is more solid.
Probably add another babe pic too.
This thread certainly turned into something more than I expected. It was just an excuse to post a nice babe pic.

Make it an Asian girl in a bikini in snow.

I’ve learned from living here for this long that when it comes to these events it’s typically best to take the Peej approach. If the forecast is doomcasting, we’re probably okay. But if they’re telling us it’s a nothing burger, time to stock up on TP.
I remember when it snowed in Hammond in 08 I went to bed and told my wife I’d check in the morning before driving to Baton Rouge for work. My alarm went off and I opened the blinds and saw an inch of snow on the ground. Ended up getting around 8” and burned a fire for 36 hrs because we lost power.

Hammond definitely got more than BR that day. It was the day of my final final exam of college ever. Drove to LSU in damn near a white out and almost slid into the cars when I turned into south stadium parking lot at LSU. Ended up with about 3-4 inches that day. I remember it was heavier the further East you went.

I talked the secretary at EBR, she said there are no plans to cancel school tomorrow since there is no expected precipitation

Y’all need to go big or go home. Get yourself a Davis Vantage Pro with a detachable anemometer. I’ve had one for three years with zero issues and it is 99.999% accurate. Very impressed and happy with it and I feel it was worth the price.
My amateur hour arse has at least heard of those but that’s in a bit of a different price bracket and just not sure I can justify the need

It will do that to the unseasoned.

Yep I spent about $1,100 on mine. It’s time for me to send it back in for some maintenance though. Hurricane Ida did something to it and the rainfall measurements just haven’t been the same. Also I think one of the cups on the anemometer may be cracked. It stopped measuring accurate wind speeds at 75mph (right at hurricane force) that night about an hour before the worst, which bummed me out. I guarantee I ended up with gusts to 110mph that night because the gusts after it broke were exponentially harder. That was a loud night!
