According to the local channels in NOLA, they are basically saying no wintry mix of any kind.
Just a cold arse rain.
I take what they say with a grain of salt.

We haven't even gotten to the fun part yet. We're up to 9 pm Thursday and it's got the moisture building.

So far it’s not all that different from the previous run. Can’t wait to see how it ends.

This is starting to remind me of a storm we had in Lafayette maybe 6-7 years ago
They expected a little bit of sleet in the morning with temps heating up enough during the day to melt it all off
Instead it continued to drizzle for hours and the temps never got above freezing. Ended up having to drive home from work on some scary frickin roads

QPF is significantly lower on this run. that's the good news.
Moves the corridor of freezing rain a bit further south as well.

6 and 12z too but we hardly use those since that’s the middle of the night
That's no excuse at all, baw. You gotta set an alarm.

NAM backed way off the totals. Precip is farther south and there's no snow on the northern side for this run.

I was kind of expecting that after the sizable drop from 12z to 18z.

If there is a chance of ice, I would not count on it...
