It was a joke. Should’ve never been an apology. Should’ve never been any outrage.

This, but good on Crenshaw for coming on SNL and poking fun at the whole thing. It was more other people who were offended by the "joke" than Crenshaw himself.

Not completely accurate. Sean Spicer contacted Lorne Michaels a day or two after the “hit man in a porn movie” line aired to express his disapproval and ask/demand that Davidson be fired. Now it’s a little hard to blame Spicer because SNL lambasted him for months. That shite had to get old and I’m sure he’s still annoyed about it. But you can’t say liberals are the only ones who ever demand someone be fired for some political correctness faux pas, real or imagined. It usually comes from the left, but not always.

I thought Crenshaw did a great job of handling this and the reality is that the whole incident has done him more good than harm. I doubt very seriously that he gave a flying frick about the joke in the first place. He also gave Davidson the opportunity to redeem himself in a respectful manner. Many people in politics wouldn’t extend that olive branch or accept it if offered by the opposition. I’d never heard Dan Crenshaw’s name until a week or so ago and I can honestly say I already like him better than almost everyone else in Congress. He seems like a good guy and America could use more like him in general and in politics in particular.

I thought it was a pretty cool clip that showed some civility between two people who disagreed and we should probably have more of that.

This right here.
IMO, the “us vs them” mentality is going to ruin this country. Constantly trying to demonize anyone who doesn’t agree 100% with your personal worldview is the road to nowhere.

I thought it was pretty awesome to let Crenshaw get over on Davidson. The cell phone ringtone had me LMAO.

The incident was good for both parties. Obviously the free publicity for Crenshaw and I’m sure they had a few more people tuning in during WU to see.

At the 1:46 mark at the top is pete’s dad who was a firefighter. This was a song dedicated to the firefighter’s who died on 9/11 and had all the it pictures on the video.

I wonder what Trump would do now if he went on during an Alec Baldwin skit.

Sometimes the race to be "cutting edge" goes way too far.

Frankly, I'm surprised this took place. No idea what spurred the apology- but it was the right thing to do. Mentioning Davidson's father was a classy move, as well. He was certainly a hero who gave away all his tomorrows in the line of duty.

I do not agree with the politics of the left- and I never will. But we can disagree while still being civil to one another.

So does this mean we stop ruining the career of Conservatives who make insensitive remarks?

Thought not, so, I hope this punk's career is ruined and he is harassed everywhere he goes.

At the end you hear Davidson lean in and tell Dan in his ear "you're a good man"

yeah, I respect him after that ending part. he definitely meant the apology. who hasn't said something offensive that they thought was funny at the time? I do that weekly.

I don't think it was caving to outrage, I think he truly thinks he went a little too far.
