I remember going to drive-in movies as a kid. Both parents probably went though 3/4 a pack in the car, all while the spiral mosquito repellant things burned.

So are you saying that in 6th grade I didnt get a crazy sinus attack every other day until they asked my mom if anyone smoked around me and she said she did?

She quit smoking in the house and basically since then the only time I have really been "sick" is when I would drink a bottle of tequila or some stupid shite. Barely any sinus problems or any other real sickness since then.

dont listen to him man. He knows more thn all doctors and scientists that have studied smoking. You were sick because of all your vaccinations and things. Smoking is perfectly healthy.

This was brought up around the coffee pot and whats the OT thoughts. Is smoking a cig while driving kids in the car child neglect/abuse? How about when walking up to a store, cig in one hand and a toddler in the other?
The other day I saw a man smoking a cig and carrying his 12 month hold around.

thoughts?

When I was growing up, smoking as very commonplace. People smoked at their offices, on planes, in doctor's offices... everywhere. My parents would both smoke in the car and dad was a complete arse about not wanting to crack the window even a little and he would smoke a good pack and a half of Camels (unfiltered) per day. After about an hour into our 4-hour trip to see my grandparents, it looked like Cheech & Chong were in the car with us.

That was then, this is now. Now it's trashy as frick.

Without tobacco, think of the geriatric problem this country would have.

I've never met a single person die from second hand smoke. Never even heard of one.
So that's the barometer, whether you met someone who has died?

I hear stories all the time from my dad and his friends about 5+ hour road trips, windows rolled up, both parents chain smoking. I'm sure they would have never done it knowing what we know now.

Well that's mine. I've told it before here. Heading to Pensacola Beach in the 67 Lincoln Continental with the suicide doors. 7 in the car. Old man pulls the tab off a Schlitz around Bay St Louis on the old highway. No I-10 yet. "Roll that god damn window up son. You're letting all the smoke out. "

Also at the Cross Country meet lay weekend the woman pulling on a Benson and Hedges screaming at her daughter to "speed up-you're pathetic."

Both true stories.

Perfectly acceptable. Weed is a cure-all that is the most healthful thing you can put in your body.

Is vapeing with kids in the car trashy?

Is smoking grape-flavored blunts around your baby-momma's kids traashy?

Meh. The whole 2nd hand smoking thing is blown out of proportion. Kid will be fine unless he's a pussy.
This. Had a professor in college say that it is way over blown. I wouldn't ever do it, but i think the fear is great in this debate.

Plus at least the kids parents are looking cool. The kid will gain some respect in school.

A kid that grows up around cigarette smoke will become less of a pussy than one who didn't.

Trashy? Sure, but how much smoke are they really gonna inhale? Plus fumes from cars walking down the street or by a bus would be much worse.

Grrw up with both parents smoking. In the car and in the house. No way I would call it abuse, it was just a different time back then

The hipsters I see smoking those FreeSpirits, or whatever the frick they are called, tell me that they are pure tobacco without bits of fiberglass or the formaldehyde that Winston and Marlboro use... Parents should just smoke those in the car with the kids. Those, or Kool Filter-Kangs. Menthol ain't bad for you.
