How is someone smart enough to steal an identity and gain employment but too stupid to do an hr job?

The job probably required basic addition and subtraction.

They basically treat interviews for six-figure jobs like an interview for a Mickey D's fry cook. I've clearly been doing it all wrong.

Saw this, too. How in the actual frick was she the most qualified person applying for this job? I'm telling you, they need to look closer at those involved in her hiring. Someone was pulling strings for her on the inside. There's about a 0% chance that she aced a legitimate interview for this type of job having zero education or experience with it whatsoever.

Exactly, they need to have a talk with the person/people that did the hiring and basically say what Ace Rothstein in Casino said to the slot manager "You were either too dumb to realize you were being had or you were in on it. Either way, you're out!"

Company officials became suspicious when White had trouble "performing duties within the educational level and experience listed on her resume" and when she began delegating many tasks assigned to her, according to the DA's news release.

But they still gave her a raise.

If I'm another applicant for that job that was passed over for a fraud, I would sue them

Agreed. That's a lot of money to agree to pay someone without doing any due diligence. I've gone through what I assume to be MUCH tougher interviews for far less money over the years. There's just no way this got to where it did without someone doing a "favor".

Clearly the hiring manager or committee threw a bunch of softballs in the interviews or didn't really interview her at all

There's a larger problem with hiring practices. Employers (not all) are required to meet certain criteria when hiring and interviewing employees sometimes. These practices often lead to situations similar to these where the person hired is not the most qualified or suited for a position.

You're correct. But they typically can at least get close to the target. There's no way this woman should have made it past the first interview. None.

does the salary get credited to the "owner" of the ssn? Has social security payment implications. Wouldn't it be detected when the owner files a tax return that doesn't match reported income?

Time served, don't do it again, and see you later. She'll be alright.

The big liar weed-out is not knowing Office. You say you have experience then can't whip up a spreadsheet or make a slideshow.

Almost everything else you can fudge. The technical stuff, you have to learn. Also love her degree came from a Hebrew university. lol
