Certain powers at be don’t want generational wealth for any but themselves. They want people buried in debt, living large off of credit.

No one planting seeds for their grandchildren.

They want a dependent collective that relies on their masters to survive.

So who was this great designer?

It wasn't LBJ. It goes back to FDR when redlining in housing policy started. It was especially bad in midwestern rust belt cities that experienced the Great Migration of blacks escaping the Jim Crow laws in the South. Chicago, Detroit, and Cleveland saw the worst of it.

There are some claims of systemic racism that may be overblown, but those claims in housing policy in this country are not unfounded. And those policies did stymie wealth accumulation in black families.

North Baton Rouge is mostly single family homes. There is one zip code up there that is 0% white.

Pretty much all of those single family homes were built in the '20's, '30's, and '40's by white people. Many of Baton Rouge's middle-and-upper class (Rolfe McCollister and others) have their roots in North Baton Rouge, me included.
