I drove through a crazy blizzard to finals at LSU at 7 AM a few years ago. One of the craziest things I've had to do.

I remember that shite. I thought for sure my final exam at 8 AM would get cancelled. Didn't happen

LSU seems to run on the assumption that their entire student body lives a mile or less from campus.

When are you idiots going to realize in case it happens too be bad, they don't need to have to worry with getting thousands of kids home with parents wondering where they are.

Sounds like I should board up for these 20 mph winds.

Meh. You always err on the side of caution with something like this. All it takes is a stalled front to make it a nightmare to get kids home.

God forbid parents have to deal with their kids for a few hours and it likely gets made up later in the year (not sure how these districts handle makeup days, we make them up here).

For as much as some of y'all bitch about teachers, you sure as hell pitch a fit when you have to deal with the kids you actually popped out.

Schools have insurance companies that ultimately make the calls. Many schools were contacted by insurance companies before the solar eclipse to explain their lack of coverage for eye damage, so I would imagine a flood is even more severe.

There were a significant number of Rapides parents beside themselves they had school today. My sons classes went outside for recess.

These parents want off for everything.
