Anyone here use simplisafe? Wondering how it ranks compared to one of the big boys.

My sister and BIL recently got it after getting burglarized. They seem to be satisfied. Still are getting used to the nuances of an alarm system but that the same with any of them. They went with SS because it had the best reputation of any diy or even traditional security system. There are some really shite systems out there.

I am looking for an enhanced security system as well. I don’t want to pay $50 a month for monitoring. I would like some smart functionality to be controlled by voice or phone, app alerts when needed, and a moderate cost to have professional monitoring if I elect for that.

Hang thieves high. That's the best system.

I've had it for five years now. My house has never been broken into so it seems to be working.

I got mine after my apartment in the Garden District of BR got raided. The model looks slightly different now than when I got it in 2016, but I was very satisfied. It was easy to set up the sensors, and I felt safe knowing I had an alarm system. No contracts or wiring. I just had to remind the company to quit billing me $25 per month for the monitoring when I moved out. $25 per month allows you to disable the system, etc. from a computer or app on phone, but you could skip that and just use only the keypad to turn on/off the alarm for $15 per month. I did the $25 so I could have the luxury of turning it on/off from the app.
The signs they gave also worked. I was fine after, but some of my neighbors continued to get broken into.
