Simba to be gay in Disney's new live-action Lion King movie

I know this is movie board or maybe even soccer board material, but this topic goes beyond just the fact that it's a movie. It's Lion King. This movie came out during my early childhood and is one of the greatest cartoon movies ever made. Why mess up a good thing? And then to make the main character gay? What do parents tell their kids when the Lion is in love with another male Lion? This is just weird to me. I get that Disney wants to be proactive and on the forefront of society's current issues, but don't force it on our children like this.
