... grinding this country of 1.3 billion people to a near halt has also provided a temporary remedy to another pressing health issue: suffocating pollution levels.
India's Coronavirus Lockdown is Having an Effect on Pollution

The sudden fall in pollutants and the subsequent blue skies signal a dramatic shift for India -- which has 21 of the world's 30 most polluted cities

In the capital, New Delhi, government data shows the average concentration of PM 2.5 plunged by 71% in the space of a week

And did you notice how cool it got? Coincidence, I think not

There are going to be some major positive impacts of this lockdown across the world.
We can debate if those impacts were worth it and/or if the negatives are too great to enjoy the positives.
We cannot deny the positive items will occur though.

I wonder how the lack of a sewer system in Venice, Italy is affecting the virus there?
quote:
The city (Venice) does not have a complete modern sewage system, meaning its canals are also its sewer system. This poses some obvious health and sanitation concerns.

i hate comments like this. the reality is that India uses a ton of coal for power generation and within their industrial manufacturing and very little natural gas. Converting to natural gas would be a clean way to quickly and cheap way to transform that country. The same goes for China, as a whole moving away from coal would have significant impacts across the globe, and at one point this was accepted. However, as always, the environmental left refuses to look at realistic solutions to pollution.
