I thought it was when I comfortably paid for a 5k sqft house in a great neighborhood. It was actually when I moved to a shitty 2,400 sqft house on 20 acres.

Having land is amazing in every way.

Thank you, fine scholar.

I've been screaming it for years. I've lived in a dozen states and I've lived less than a 1/3 mile to the beach in SoCal. Now I live on a farm in rural Oklahoma. I have no neighbors and everything that needs to get done on the farm squarely falls on my shoulders.

I can fish whenever I want to on the great Lake Texoma. I have more tools and toys than I know what to do with sometimes.

Now that's living.

Adding that I'm on my front porch with a wife beater and wind pants drinking coffee and smoking sativa. I can deer hunt from this front porch.

You can literally do whatever the frick you want when you own land and don't have neighbors.

Agreed. (and i won't berate you like the previous poster).

Over the years I've moved to progressively bigger plots. I live about 25-30 minutes out now, near a major highway.

Just some activities around here today: my son and a friend are going hunting this evening. The friend got one this morning. My buddy is changing the struts on his daughter's car in my shop. He's been living here since March in his camper after his divorce, saving $$$ for his own land. I just finished modifying my firepit (it was one of those cocktail ones - too tall). And later I'm planting about 10 white oak trees around my field. The wife is putting up her insane Christmas lights in the trees near the road with the tall ladders.

Just another day in paradise.

it is the American dream. I just have 6AC but it’s outside of town on a dead end street and it’s got good dirt, good trees and good water. I could (and probably will) feed us almost entirely from it, and the work done to make that happen will be more fulfilling than anything else I’ve ever done.

that’s when you’ve made it

I’ll know I’ve made it when I die rich. Until then, anything can happen. Examples: Napoleon Buonaparte, Julius Caesar, Jeffrey Epstein and Adolf Hitler.
