This is why the rabbis say not to eat crustaceans.

56 compounds from illegal drugs, pharmaceuticals and pesticides in the little critters. Cocaine was the most frequent contaminant found; it showed up in shrimp at every single site. Lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that is sometimes used to dilute cocaine, was the second most frequently detected compound. The drug ketamine was also widespread. Diazepam (also known as Valium) and alprazolam (also known as Xanax) were among the other drugs detected

Hookers and shrimp just don’t go together

It’s easiest to catch them on a high tide

Well they got that from the Old Testament. Jesus said it was OK to eat them.

quote:

Mark 7:14-23 New International Version (NIV)

14 Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. 15 Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.” [16] [a]

17 After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable. 18 “Are you so dull?” he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? 19 For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)

20 He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them. 21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”

Ask Mel Gibson what they did to him about this.

so do they not address why alprazolam and cocaine are being found in shrimp or did you just not include it?

Shrimp, in general, have very little to live for. While drug use is never encouraged for any species it is certainly understandable why the shrimp would turn to cocaine and alprazolam as an escape mechanism.
