Over vaccine status as long as it is being litigated

quote:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana’s largest health system cannot fire or otherwise discipline north Louisiana employees who refuse to get vaccinated against COVID-19 while the mandate’s legality is in court, a state appeals court says.
The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeal in Shreveport ruled Thursday, just a day before Ochsner Health’s Friday deadline for its 32,000 employees across Louisiana and in a small part of Mississippi to be fully vaccinated or face dismissal.
State District Judge Craig Marcotte had thrown out a lawsuit brought Oct. 5 by dozens of employees at Ochsner’s Shreveport location. The three-judge appellate panel ordered him to hold a hearing on the mandate and to block enforcement until its legality is decided.

So as a small govt conservative you aren’t for an employers right to choose who they employ? You consider that a win for America?

Well, that is reasonable…however, when the litigation is complete, they will be fired.

Who says the employers wants to fire them? The government is forcing them.

We all believe absolutely a company has the right whether to hire or fire someone. However, in this case it has to do with whether or not the company is firing someone who is exercising their civil right (not to be mandated to take the vaccine which hasn't been ruled on yet). So, imho your question is premature.

That isn’t the case here. Ochsner wants to fire employees who don’t follow their own rules of getting vaccinated. This court in North La is not allowing them to do so.

Biden needs to frick off making business fire people

This court needs to frick off and allow Ochsner to fire people if they want

If that's truly their position, that's pretty sad.

This isn’t correct. Ochsner set forth a policy all Employees must be vaccinated (or follow certain testing and masking rules) or be fired on 10/31. That was before the govt mandate

This court is telling Ochsner how to do their own business. It’s big govt and it’s shite

Thats great you think it’s sad, but it absolutely should be their choice as an employer

FWIW, i read your point the first time. It doesn't have to keep being reiterated.

Thanks.

For those misinformed, here is Ochsner’s release far before any govt mandate

LINK
quote:

RELEASE DATE: AUGUST 24, 2021 Following full approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Ochsner Health (Ochsner) announced a mandatory requirement that all its physicians, providers and employees be vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 29, 2021. This formal announcement comes as the Gulf South continues to face high COVID-19 positivity rates, hospitalizations and deaths. Today, Ochsner is caring for 979 COVID-19 patients. More than 88%, 865, are unvaccinated.
Not a single conservative should support this ruling.

That's a little misleading title......the article clearly says....

hold a hearing on the mandate and to block enforcement until its legality is decided.

So as a big government liberal you aren't for protected classes? Should businesses be able to fire based on skin color?

BTW, the state's positivity rate checked in at .97% or so today i believe. I don't remember it being under 1% almost ever. Sure hope we are on the backside of our last big wave.

I beleive so yes. I believe a business should be allowed to hire and fire who they so choose

Didn’t go how you think it would, did you?
