Shreveport native dies in Murder-Suicide

A Shreveport native and Loyola College Prep graduate died Friday in San Antonio, the apparent victim of domestic violence.

San Antonio anesthesiologist and mother of two, Dr. Casey Mitchell Ross, 43, was rushed to University Hospital where she later died of her injuries, San Antonio police said.

Police were called to the home in Rogers Ranch community in San Antonio shortly after 7 a.m. Friday, according to NEWS4 in San Antonio after receiving a call from a woman who was inside a closet at the home.

David Ross, 46, was dead when police arrived, while Casey Ross, 43, was rushed to University Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators believe the Ross shot his wife in the head and then shot himself.

Dr. Ross’ two school-aged children were not home at the time of the shooting.

Police have not determined why Ross shot his wife. Domestic violence advocates say in many situations, when someone being abused makes an attempt to leave or mentions leaving, things can quickly turn tragic.

Neighbors told NEWS4 this was Dr. Ross’ second marriage and she had lived in the home with the children prior to David moving in.
