I gotta say Morris Bart owns Shreveport-Bossier

I didn't realize they were out of state too. I saw Morris Bart billboards in Alabama over Thanksgiving

My apologies for the shitty post...I was raised there as well and being a bit nostalgic about it. I left in '84 and moved out west. My family still lives there.

People I've met over the years out here mention a love for the food and other aspects of Louisiana.

I do agree with you...the roads, education and industry need a major face-lift...not just Shreveport but the entire state as a whole.

I'm from there. That town has been chasing Dallas for thirty years. They need to embrace their Louisiana instead.

Spent many a Friday/Saturday nights down there.

Guess I was being a bit too nostalgic about it in my previous post. I was raised there and left in '84.

Not at all. It was a fun place in The 70s and 80s. Lots of famous musicians played the square. EVH would show up and play often.

Great music and bar scene in those days, vets amphitheater, etc.

The Square kicked arse in the 80s.

So did Stars/Vertigo. Cowboys was lame buy packed with ladies. Blind Tiger has always been fun. I had a blast in Shre/Bo in the 80's.

I nominate Mumford Stadium.

If Memorial is still in shape, that would be the place. Perhaps Tiger Stadium if the capacity of Memorial is exceeded. Too many damned bowls already. BR would be better off to get one of the existing to relocate.

In terms of North LA blowing the socks off South LA in terms of food ...... well after living in Monroe for seven years, it seemed that the only seasoning the natives up there knew anything about was salt. All of their "Cajun and Creole Cuisine" is normally frozen from somewhere in south LA, and thawed upon order. Nothing fresh about it.

Hey look, out of state people are bashing the state of Louisiana on a Louisiana message board again.

To be fair, I only bashed the city of Shreveport, not Louisiana as a whole.

And also, during the 26 years that I lived in Louisiana I bashed Shreveport then too. So at least I'm consistent.

North Louisiana food blows south Louisiana out of the water

I’ve lived in both places. I have to disagree. Maybe you just prefer southern cooking (turnip greens, fried chicken, cornbread, etc).

Shreveport is a crime infested shithole. It will never get better.
