I had never heard of this Perkins guy until today, but he has one hell of a resume for such a young guy. How the hell did y’all convince him to stay in that hellhole?

He has higher political aspirations and Shreveport seemed like an easy place for him to come in and win an easy Mayoral election.

I think the guy genuinely wants to clean up the city. Of course, it ain’t gonna happen and he’s going to fail, but I think Shreveport will be in better hands than the two previous dumb motherfrickers they’ve had in office.

This guy went to West Point, did a few years in the Army, then I’m pretty sure he went Ivy League or something like that afterwards.

ETA: Harvard law, he’s got a bronze star, got out of the military as a Captain.

say what you want about the man, but Shreveport crime and sleaze has been in an OOC downward spiral since GWD ran the DoPS

sadly, I have to agree, lots of opportunities for it to be a great place, people there have a strange mentality there, they bitch about we don't have this, why can't we get that? then they get it and won't support it

Never heard of Hirsch Coliseum?

J/K. Like Salmon said, I think he'll be a state legislator at some point. Shreveport was easy pickings to take the first step.

It didn't whiff. The fricking plane crash doomed Shreveport.

I used to date a girl whose dad owned a radio station in Shreveport. He ran some political advertising for ole George, who tried to pay him with a piece of hot jewelry

ETA: fun fact, Shreveporters fought more duels per capita than any other place in the United States in the years before the Civil War.

the reason Centurytel, or whatever it's called is in Bossier instead of SHV is because of the backwards dolts there

This makes sense to me....and it was. He crushed our past moronic mayor in a landslide. I'm not sure things will be that different, but I'm more proud to have a guy like him running the city than that ditz we had before. Literally one of her biggest accomplishments was the "Don't be trashy, keep Shreveport classy campaign" No actual trash was ever picked up...in fact our sanitation dept is understaffed and behind schedule...but ya know... she put up signs
