The teachers of PS 118 went on strike over having free coffee removed from the teachers lounges due to budget slippages if I remember correctly

When I worked in a European school, lunch was 5 dollars (but it was actually quality food) but I never ate it because during recess at 10:30, the school chef made bread, cheese, meat, cream cheese, juice, coffee, tea, bagels, multiple types of fruit, and one warm dish (like a flatbread pizza or something similar) and more for the staff. I just waited till everyone had their fill and crushed everything that didn't get eaten. It was an unreal amount of food. But people would still only pick at and then eat their store bought crap or spend money for the chef's lunch meal than get the free stuff.

My company had provided it for the previous 13 years I worked there, but we got a new mill manager, and he stopped the free coffee.

What a way to start with the new employees. I guess he doesn't want any of his employees to get the wrong idea that he's not a total a-hole.

Private sector companies might provide it, but if you work for the state in any capacity, not so much. Taxpayers don't want to pay for other people's coffee. We put money in a coffee fund.

My old office used to do a dollar a week coffee club. I liked it because I felt like I was contributing and they would use it to buy nice coffee.

Why is it up to your employer to provide you free shite?

Stop being a self entitled douche and buy your own coffee.

You sound like the type of person who would work at a place that does provide free coffee but then bitch because it wasn't your favorite brand.
