I feel your pain. Some people three houses down have a massive mutt that stands at the edge of the driveway and barks at the air all day.

I've had a conversation with a cop about this (not me complaining but another friend), and it doesn't fall under a noise complaint, so it can be called in at any time of the day

They just have to catch the dog barking and will leave a warning at the door. So when you call the cops, they will come and if they hear the dogs then they will leave the notice on their door and the next time it will be a more serious offense if the barking continues

If someone calls the cops over a barking dog, they should get no respect from anyone, ever.

What's the "more serious" offense? I'm generally interested about what the crime is for a barking dog.

Throw it a bone or a ball, it's probably craving attention that the owner never gives it.

Yeah it is. My neighbors dog will sometimes bark for hours. He's aware of it though and will discipline the dog or bring it inside. There's no way I'd let my dog stay outside barking all day.
