Should LEO's Get Twice The Sentence of Non LEO's for Breaking the Law?

We all know rogue LEO's literally get away with murder sometimes due to their bullshite umbrella hero status in the community. With many of these injustices being brought to light in recent months the public has finally began to demand justice. Hopefully we can put enough pressure on DA's to begin prosecuting rogue LEO's that use their badges to perpetrate and get away with heinous crimes that non LEO's would spend years in prison for. Just reading comments on an article about how LEO's should get twice the sentence of non LEO's due to their familiarity of the law and the inherent knowledge of what they can get away with and how to get away with it. Understood that we have to begin prosecuting them at all before we introduce heftier sentences, but with that in mind what are your thoughts on LEO's serving heftier sentences when convicted? Would this help to deter future injustices by LEO's?
Full disclosure: Some LEO's are actual heros. Cheers to those hard working LEO's who uphold the law regardless of peer pressure.

Scruffy disagrees. They have twice the power. They should face twice the punishment.
The same goes for politicians. Corruption, stealing from constituents, lying, they should be capital offenses for politicians.

Not automatically double, but there should be a compounding factor to consider the fact that they're cops. They should also be open to civil suit for certain actions.

anytime someone murders a cop, it's usually a capital murder case. It should be the same when a cop murders a civilian.

In a perfect world where we all equally share the power I would agree that we should all equally be held accountable when that power is abused. Here in the real world I disagree and say they should be held to a higher standard.
