If you're going to do a lot of interstate driving you definitely want the Z71.

I'll never understand why anyone would buy a Ram. Trash level: 10.

If we're talking 1500 yeah Z71. But if you're thinking about a diesel the Dodge 2500 Cummins trumps all.

I am on my 3rd Ram. Right now, I have a 2014 and love it. The older models had a rough ride. Not this one. Even my wife likes to drive this one when before she didn't. I just can't compare it to a Z71 since I have never drove or owned one.

I like the Z71 with the body-colored bumper and grill.

Z71 has the lowest engine specs of the big 4 unless you upgrade to the 6.2 which is only offered in High end packages(including Toyota). So until they upgrade past the 5.3 piece of cr@p i'll say Ram.

Other than that all the 1/2 ton trucks have their pluses and minuses but all fairly good.

Meh, my 14 has 100k on the clock and is the best truck I've ever owned. Zero issues. However, Anything > dodge

I had a Ram as a rental this week. Not bad. That engine is the best out of the 4.

Bought a new Silverado Z71 last week. Traded an '11 Z71 model for it. Holy crap at all the upgrades! If you're a technology person you will be amazed at how everything integrates with your phone and all. If you are simply wanting the truck appeal, it rides like a dream!

My friend has a new Ram. Before I bought my truck, I was impressed with some of the things on it. But when I drove my new truck it was like going from night to day. Hands down Z71.

Be sure to negotiate a leveling kit and some decent tires into your deal. Those street tires are shite. Personally I've always been a GMC guy, but those Chevys with the painted grill and bumper is bad arse!
